My friend Malc and I were on the Farne Islands to photograph the Puffins returning to their burrows with sand eels for the chicks. We had to walk through the nesting area of Arctic Terns which were aggressively defending their nests. They would dive bomb intruders and defecate on them as well as pecking heads so severely, they can draw blood! We finished up with several expensive cameras completely covered in bird poo as well as sore heads!

Beware - Photographers About! I was composing my picture to include the leading line of the path and the stormy sky above, thinking all I need is something else in the picture to draw the eye to the horizon, when, right on cue, a photographer appeared, struggling with his tripod and camera. Perfect!
